Position Summary:

To ensure the safety and security of the buildings and employees of NAC, by patrolling the premises and monitoring the safety systems after hours and on weekends. Responsible for providing courteous, accurate and timely repsonse to callers and visitors to present the best company image. 

The shift for this position is Friday and Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. 

Essential Functions:

  • Check building to make sure all doors are locked and areas are secure. 
  • Patrol building during shift to monitor for unlocked areas, fire or safety hazards, and any unusual or suspicious circumstances.
  • Responsible for seeing that all security logs and visitor logs are properly completed.
  • See that all vents are recorded as they occur, even if they seem insignificant at the time.
  • Monitor automatic fire systems, ink alarm, and door alarms.
  • Notify police, fire department, or appropriate security personnel in an emergency situation.
  • Monitor employees for Company ID badges.
  • Carry cell phone and radio so other employees in the building can have contact with the guard on duty.
  • Sign visitors in and out of building.
  • Escort employees to their vehicles if requested to do so.
  • Wear uniform shirts provided by the company and black pants.
  • Review the guard desk book for new information and requirements since last shift. Review Security Guard manual on a regular basis for updates and changes. 
  • Answer incoming phone calls and give assistance in a professional and courteous manner.

Work/Technical Requirements

  • Ability to assess the circumstances of safety, security, or emergency situations and take the initiative to correct the problem and obtain assistance as necessary.
  • Ability to be on feet for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stay awake and alert for entire shift, even if things are quiet and slow.
  • Must be able to read and write legibly.
  • Good communication skills.
